What a general physician does

A general physician looks at your health as a whole. They are the doctor to start with when something feels wrong and you are not sure who to see.

  • Assesses new symptoms such as fever, cough, acidity, headaches and fatigue.
  • Manages long-term conditions like diabetes, high blood pressure and thyroid problems over regular follow-ups.
  • Reviews blood tests and other reports, and explains what they mean.
  • Refers you to the right specialist when you need one.
